Welcome to Year 5!
Year 5 is a year where children really cement their skills as independent learners. They begin to think about the exciting challenges that lie ahead in Year 6 and beyond.
Children in Year 5 study a range of interesting topics such as The Ancient Egyptians and Crime and Punishment through History. They also study what the future world may look like and what our local area has to offer. All the Adventures will spark their curiosity and encourage their research skills.
Children also have many opportunities to show and nurture their creativity, making moving cam mechanisms in DT and creating their own monotypes in Art.
Children continue to study The Big Picture in RE. study exciting units in Science, such as Forces, Changing Materials and Animals including Humans and carry on refining their musical and physical skills in our music and PE lessons.
